Continuing the Dicsworld theme...Susan, boots and goth heels

I can't be the only one who's quite looking forward to Easter Saturday so that I can...err... symbolically bury myself in my duvet and have a nice nap.

So much to do, and I'm not even clergy. Holy Week, here we come. Hold on to your hats!

Anyway, my beloved black boots have given up on me. I love these boots. Knee length, kind of piratey with their fold-over top, and completely flat. The streets around here are not kind to a woman with a tray of teacups and high heels.

There really is a good reason I'm carrying cups through the streets, by the way. It's not just for fun.

Regardless, I have decided that what I really want are the kind of boots I had several years ago. I had a brown pair that laced up to my knees, and after they gave up on me, a grey pair which did likewise. Victoriana, but longer.

But what I really, REALLY wanted was a black pair, and never could I find any in my budget. Or in my ideal heel height (i.e. practically flat). Searching teh Internetz has produced a lot of this sort of thing:

But not, until fairly recently, much else. I mean sure, they have laces, but not exactly the look I'm going for.

Anyway, I'm hoping if I find some boots with a too-high heel, they can be...reduced.

Ebay is completely my friend. It likes me. And so I shall find for myself a pair of black Victoriana-style lace up knee boots. And I shall love them and hug them and call them George (Or Albert, I suppose) and I shall work the Susan Sto Helit look for all that I'm worth (the movie version, please note) because she's completely and totally awesome.

Yes, I know it's spring. I'll still be wearing boots for a while yet regardless.

So there.

for picture of Susan. Yay! Susan!
