Well, first there was the lovely Jenny, a sports masseuse who, on my second treatment, actually braced herself against the wall to work out the kinks in my neck.
And with a smile and some cheery conversation while she was doing it.
Chirpractors are slightly better, at least you get warning.
But the osteopath I went to see on Tuesday probably takes the cake.
It is my own fault, though. I told him I wanted my neck and back better faster, and about Jenny the Lovable Sadist. So with much deep breathing on my part, I got various vertebrae 'adjusted'.
CRACK. CRACK-CRACK-CRACK.
'You ok?'
*breathes*
'Good. Once more...'
CRAAAACK.
My upper back is a bit tender, but, and it's a frakkin' miracle, my neck hurt not at all yesterday and a only a little today.
Booyah!
In other news, I can do a one-legged squat.
But only on one leg. The other one...well, I squat down, try and push back up, and wobble a bit before falling over.
Working on it.
